Chewie’s Kaervek CMDR Decks Video

Kaervek the MercilessAs promised back in Episode 211, I did a video for CMDR Decks featuring my Kaervek deck.  After the jump you’ll find the video and the full decklist, complete with card popups and links to Cardshark as usual.  If you have any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions, then leave a comment for me.  Just so you know, there are a few cards I want to add in as soon as I manage to find copies of them, like Spiteful Visions and Temple Bell.

Also, let me know what you think about the sad, sad attempt at comedy in the opening and closing parts of the video.  I figured I’d see if I could come up with something other than just looking at the camera and saying “Here’s my deck,” you know?  I figured I’d try to spice it up with a little bit of me.  I figure anyone who actually comes here to see it will probably appreciate it and anyone who sees it accidentally on Youtube or GatheringMagic without knowing who I am will hate it.  But that’s fine by me, you guys are my target audience!  Okay, anything else I’d say here would just be a repeat of what was said in the video, so I’ll just stop.  Hope you enjoy!

Oh, and thanks to Scott, my roomie and webmaster here on the site for providing the camera along with the other Chewie’s voice in the intro and his locomotion in the outro.

I enjoyed the video with one exception. The bobble-head Chewie was cut off. It took me a while to figure out that there was even another Chewie apart from the stuffy Chewie.

The deck seems pretty fun to play. I especially love the “whether or not I win, this game is going to end” mentality. The problem that I have with Commander and multiplayer in general is the games last so long and it seems to take forever for my turn to finally come around again. Speeding up the game seems like a huge win to me! Plus, I’ve always had a soft spot for black/red decks. My first deck was black/red, and my most recent build was Malfegor.

    Thanks for the video!

I didn’t realize the bobble-head was cut off until after we were reviewing the footage. And since it was the 3rd take, I definitely didn’t want to do it again. Scott and I did multiple takes of each segment because I’m a diva and wanted to be sure it looked good. But it’s okay, the little Chewie bobblehead was still sort of in frame :p
