Episode 431 – A Game of Delicious Potato

The latest version of Conspiracy brings with it a fascinating new meta-game. Not metagame like “what should I put in my sideboard?” but a new layer of game within the game. Much like the show on HBO, it’s a Game of Delicious Potato. Who wants to be the Monarch? EVERYONE!

In case you can’t tell, we’re doing Conspiracy: Take the Crown previews. There are some doozies.

Speaking of neat little subgames… How would The Monarch interact with Shahrazad?

I meant to bring up your question while recording this week’s episode, but (spoilers) I forgot.

A subgame is completely separate from the main game in which it was created, except for the specific effects and definitions established by the effect that created it. That is, the only relationship between a main game and a Shahrazad subgame is that the loser of the subgame loses half their life in the main game. Monarch status (or lack thereof) doesn’t carry over between the main game and the subgame.
