Wow, is this really the first episode we’ve recorded since GP Charlotte? In that case, we’ll spend a few minutes looking back at the GP. We also discuss the whole Cockatrice thing for a couple minutes. Brian points out that what you should be doing is don’t be moving. There’s fake new babies, a list of accomplishments (Mike is a failure, sadly) and the admission that we’re all tired. Like really tired.
But then we get into Dirk’s episode topic! Each dork get a planeswalker created for them by the other three dorks! We take personality, play style, and whatever else we can think of into account when doing this. Then we look at the ‘walker from a flavor perspective, trying to figure out who their planeswalker allies and enemies would be, and figure out what planes they might want to frequent. It’s a lot of fun and actually, we ended up with some pretty good ones. Check them out, keeping in mind that all costs and loyalties and whatnot are being left up to the developers to iron out:
+1: Search your library for a card with the same name as target creature and put it into your graveyard.
-X: Creatures get -x/-x until end of turn.
-?: Exile all permanent cards from all graveyards. Destroy all other permanents, they can’t be regenerated. Return all cards exiled this way to the battlefield under their owners’ control.
+1: Each player draws two cards, then discards one card at random.
-?: Each player puts the cards in his or her hand on the bottom of his or her library in any order, then draws that many cards.
-?: You get an emblem with “If a player would draw a card, that player exiles the top card of an opponent’s library face down instead” and “Each player may look at and play cards he or she exiled with this emblem.”
Spells you cast that share a card type with a card exiled with Mike cost 2 less to cast.
+1: Exile the top card of your library.
-2: Exile target permanent an opponent controls.
-?: Choose an exiled card and put it on the bottom of its owner’s library. If you do, Mike deals damage to target creature or player equal to that card’s converted mana cost.
+1: Until your next turn, whenever a source an opponent controls deals damage to Dirk, put that many 1/1 green Elf creature tokens onto the battlefield.
0: Choose one: – Creatures you control gain trample until end of turn; or creatures you control gain Vigilance until end of turn; or creatures you control gain lifelink until end of turn.
-?: For each nonlegendary creature you control, put a token that’s a copy of that creature onto the battlefield.
