We’re joined this week by our old friend Bill Bloodworth, who is Kurai_Seraphim on the forums and @SqueeGoblnNabob on Twitter. It’s almost a tradition to have him here with us when preview season hits, so why change things now? We talked a little bit about the GTC Event Decks (there’s only a little bit of info, after all), and a fair amount about the tokens in Gatecrash. And from there, it was all spoilers. Yeah, there were a lot. So…we hope you enjoy!

Someone hit Chewie in the head more often please.
Great episode. I love your set reviews but…
You misread Soul Ransom. If your opponent discards two cards, they don’t get the enchanted creature back- you just have to sacrifice it. That could mess up your combat, but not quite so bad.
Also: Borborygmos can’t be Bob. He’s got to be Lou Ferrigno.
Cheers!
Don’t worry, we read it right. The word “it” in “Soul Ransom’s controller sacrifices it” refers to Soul Ransom, not the creature it’s enchanting. Sacrificing Soul Ransom will cause the control-changing effect to end, and the creature will go back to its former controller.
Believe it or not, Mr. Ferrigno was the model for the art on a very early Magic card. Check out Veteran Bodyguard.
Actually, it was Myke Okuhara that nailed Holy Armor, I just commented on its perfectness.
Great episode, fellas! Keep up the good work and good luck this weekend.
Why thank you, Onas, but I can’t take credit for Holy Armor, either. That distinction goes to Richard Garfield, Ph.D., designer, developer, artist, and model of the original Holy Armor.
And Chewie, as cute as Legion Loyalist certainly is, I’m afraid once the full spoiler was released, it looked like a big ole’ sack of crap next to the sickeningly saccharine art on Totally Lost. That little homunculus is like a tactical nuclear adora-bomb.
I like how you put brilliant before your name, because it is true.
Speaking of the original art on Holy Armor… My eyes were always drawn to those unique pants.

I just dont believe that there were no “Landshark” Comments.
Woman: Flowers for whom?
Voice: [long pause] Plumber, ma’am.
Woman: I don’t need a plumber. You’re that clever shark, aren’t you?
Voice: [pause] Candygram.
Woman: Candygram, my foot! You get out of here before I call the police! You’re the shark, and you know it!
Voice: Wait. I-I’m only a dolphin, ma’am.
Woman: A dolphin? Well… Okay. [opens door]
That’s awesome. I admit I’m not really the type to watch old SNL episodes, and I don’t think the other guys are either. Now that I think about it, you and my dad might be the only people I’ve heard talk about the Land Shark.
