Chewie got a 2013 Holiday Card! That’s the good news. The bad news is that Brian was having technical difficulties, causing some serious feedback problems. The majority of them were edited out, so just trust us that they were absolutely worse than you can hear. There is also another of Brian’s on-theme Magic Mad Libs. Yay Mad Libs!
But this episode is more than problems and a Mad Lib. This one is another of those free-form rambling discussions with no real point or purpose other than to entertain our thousands of listeners across the globe! Or…at least the American ones, in this case. Roughly a year ago, we did Episode 205 – Would Solid Snake Have Shroud? It was jolly good fun, so Brian thought we should do it again. But instead of looking at video games through the lens of Magic cards, this time we’re doing television shows! Shows we enjoy, shows we’ve seen, or just shows we think might work well with Magic. If you have any ideas or suggestions for shows, then hit the forums or leave a comment on the site. Hope you enjoy!

So….Mike I think was the one talking about Castle. I approve. Mike, I know you will read this, you sir have good taste. Chewie, loved the “Woman!” comment at the beginning of the show. Made me laugh. Great episode..although I do have a question:
Did we find out what the monkey people were?
Awesome. I’m glad to have your approval.
As well you should sir….as well you should.
So just out of curiosity, have you guys ever made any cards and if so, actually used them?
The cards from Brian’s set are the only made-up cards I can remember playing with.
As a Trekkie i have thought about this before. here are some of my thoughts.
The Federation is G/W.
The Vulcans are U/W
The Romulans are U/B
The Klingons are B/R
The Borg are Artifact creatures with Shapeshifting abilities.
Worf, thought a Klingon, is a R/G legend with some sort of Prey Upon effect.
Picard is a legend with and added bonus against artifact creatures.
The Defiant is an legendary artifact that gives flying to a creature. but when it is attached to a card named Worf, it gets gives +4/+4 Fying, haste, trample and pro artifacts.
these are a few that i could remember. what do you think.
In the vain hope of coaxing NBC to get the show back on air, I started thinking about the color affiliations of the cast of Community:
Abed – Blue, his ability would be tap to draw your entire library
Pierce – Red
Shirley – White
Jeff – Black, blinks whenever he becomes the target of a spell or ability
Annie – Green
Troy – White/Red
Britta – Green/Black
Chang – Black/Red
Dean Pelton – Green/White, at the beginning of each upkeep, search your library for an equipment card, put it onto the battlefield, and attach it to Dean Pelton
There, NBC, you have your opportunity to co-brand with WotC, now put the show back on your damn schedule!
MacGuyver magic – where all permanents are artifact cards with converted mana cost of 2 or less and the winner creates an infinite loop combo
