This is especially cool to me, because I just recently went back and listened to the first 30-odd episodes. I haven't read any Magic novels, and it disappoints me that (according to Reliable Sources) they're somewhat lame. To me, the scope of Magic lore is so big and so generally awesome that, as a writer, I can't understand why someone given the opportunity wouldn't try to spin the best Magic tale they could. Heck, I'd love to take a crack at it myself, but I don't think Wizards would be interested in a backwoods Canadian with an overactive imagination who's never actually published anything. lol! It's really great for that because it's generally (not always) quite balanced. Now that I have a larger play group and they're going out and getting their own cards, I've had to put a bit more 'umph' (read: rares) in my decks.
