Yay Squanto! This is especially cool to me, because I just recently went back and listened to the first 30-odd episodes.

I haven't read any Magic novels, and it disappoints me that (according to Reliable Sources) they're somewhat lame. To me, the scope of Magic lore is so big and so generally awesome that, as a writer, I can't understand why someone given the opportunity wouldn't try to spin the best Magic tale they could. Heck, I'd love to take a crack at it myself, but I don't think Wizards would be interested in a backwoods Canadian with an overactive imagination who's never actually published anything. lol!

When I first got going, I used this 'format' to build about a dozen decks for the express purpose of introducing people to the game. It's really great for that because it's generally (not always) quite balanced. Now that I have a larger play group and they're going out and getting their own cards, I've had to put a bit more 'umph' (read: rares) in my decks. This really is a fun and flexible way to build, though, imho.

I've never gone back to listen to the old Mana Pools, so this is the first time I'm hearing from Squanto, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying his drawl. In fact, please transcribe all future podcasts and forward them to Squanto so he can read your parts for you. I'm afraid next to his dulcet tones, you all sound like nails scratching a chalkboard. Okay, Robot Dirk we'll keep around for Jungle Rat Rob's techno remixes, but the rest of you...

speaking of trading money for digital item, Diablo 3 has its auction house that you can buy items from other players. if you find enough gold in the game, you can buy stuff. but if you want, you can pay real money via paypal, and buy items in the game. also, Solforge, is going to be digital only and you will buy boosters for that as well.

Speaking of all the different formats. I wish they had a common/uncommon only standard construction format. Make me use the cards that just sit in my case and never get used.
