In August of 2014, shortly after I started Peculiar Flavor on Tumblr, I had a brief IM chat with Chewie, which went something like this:
Me: Hey, I’m starting an MtG blog, could you maybe pimp it on the next episode of the podcast?
Chewie: I’ma do you one better…
Two years later, and it’s been my great joy to have been able to post the Peculiar Flavor Roundup here. All thanks to Chewie and the Dorks for hosting what has been, easily, the most fulfilling creative content I’ve ever had the pleasure to work on.
Peculiar Flavor shall continue to live on in the form of Rejected Flavor Text reruns and various other Magic-related content at FlavorText.LOL, but—for the time being—this will be the final Roundup at themanapool.com. Thank you all so very much for reading, commenting, and sharing, and uh, go read some flavor text.
On this Roundup: Coffin Queen, Violent Eruption, Gisa and Geralf, and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon!
Even in death, Freddie Mercury found a way to rock.
“Okay, guys, seriously, you can’t keep sneaking in any more card names that’d work in front of ‘in my pants,’ just stop.” –WotC Memo
With few corpses to work with following Emrakul’s defeat, Gisa and Geralf decided to go on tour, eventually becoming the 3rd most popular brother-sister country rock duo on the Kessig county-fair circuit.
“So let me get this straight: He hasn’t ever actually helped you, he’s never around when you need him, and all he does when his is is complain about how you’ve screwed things up. So, why do you guys even care what this translucent lizard thinks about the Gatewatch?” –Terence the Sarcaster, to Jace
